Loading historic data into locked periods
Exception
Situation
During migration from an old system you need to post drafts into locked periods.
Recommendation
Temporarily turn off require_period_open_to_post, record the reason, then turn it back on.
Why
The temporary switch lets you post draft entries into locked periods; auto-post and automatic JE creation remain blocked, so nothing strays in.
Steps
- Record the migration reason.
- Temporarily turn off require_period_open_to_post.
- Post the migration drafts.
- Turn the flag back on as soon as you finish.
Avoid
- Leave the flag off after migration.
