Workflows & examples

1. From BOM to finished goods

  1. Engineering maintains the product’s BOM with components, quantities, and UOM.
  2. A planner creates a work order for a quantity; the BOM explodes into a material list.
  3. Production runs — materials are consumed in base units and finished goods are received into inventory.
  4. The work-order cost rolls up and posts inventory valuation to Accounting.

2. Scheduling to release

  1. Open Manufacturing → Schedule to see planned work orders across work centers.
  2. Resequence manually as needed (the schedule does not check capacity).
  3. Release work orders to the shop floor to begin production.
  4. Track progress and output in Overview and Reports.
