Posting into a closed period

Situation
You need a JE dated in a locked period.
Recommendation
Adjust in the open period, or reopen the period under control.
Why
A closed period rejects all postings so reported figures do not change. Reopening is a controlled action, not just turning off a flag.
Steps
- Identify the adjustment.
- Prefer posting it in the open period.
- If the old period must change, request a controlled reopen.
- Post and lock the period again.
Avoid
- Turn off the period check just to post one entry.
