Enforce Module-Level Permissions
When on, Report Builder, saved reports and scheduled reports require the analytics permission of each data source’s module (e.g. analytics:finance), not just analytics:read. Module dashboards check their own permission either way.
| Code | Default | Switch at | Turn on first |
|---|---|---|---|
analytics.module_permission_enforcement | On | /analytics/settings | — |
How it works
Report Builder, saved reports and scheduled reports check, per data source, that the user holds the analytics permission of that source’s module (e.g. analytics:finance for invoices), on top of analytics:read and the module licence.
When ON
(Default) Users without the module’s analytics permission cannot list fields, run queries, or save a report on that source (refused as forbidden). A scheduled report is checked against its creator at creation and at every send; if the creator lost the permission, the schedule is deactivated instead of sent.
When OFF
Any user with analytics:read and access to the module can build and schedule reports on its data sources.
Screens, documents and reports affected
Report Builder, saved reports (create, edit), scheduled reports (create, every send).
Caveats
The module analytics dashboards check their own permission whether this is on or off; this switch only covers Report Builder and reports built from it. Admins holding all permissions are not affected. Data scope (own/team/all) of the creator still applies to emailed reports.
Scheduled Reports via Email
Enable automated report delivery to recipient email addresses on a schedule
| Code | Default | Switch at | Turn on first |
|---|---|---|---|
analytics.scheduled_reports_enabled | On | /analytics/settings | — |
How it works
Allows reports to be emailed on a schedule. A job checks every 5 minutes for schedules that are due and emails the report as a CSV to the recipients.
When ON
(Default) Users can create schedules and use Run now; due schedules are emailed.
When OFF
Creating a schedule and Run now are refused, and no scheduled report is emailed. Schedules are kept, and can still be listed, edited or deleted.
Screens, documents and reports affected
Analytics → scheduled reports, report emails.
Caveats
While off, the next send time of each schedule is not moved forward, so when you turn it back on each overdue schedule is sent once straight away, then follows its normal timing. Recipients must be users of the company.
