Situation
A field job has labour and you worry about billing twice.
Recommendation
Each job hour is billed through at most one channel, chosen by the system from the job’s source.
Why
Job hours always reach payroll and cost; for billing: jobs from a Service Order bill via its lines; warranty/covered jobs are not billed; fixed price via scope lines; jobs on an SM ticket/project or hourly go to the Billing queue at the SM contract rate. Field hours never go to SM Timesheets or project time.
Steps
- Identify the job source (Service Order, SM ticket/project, contract, standalone).
- Log time on the job.
- Check the billing channel shown.
- Invoice through that channel.
Avoid
- Log the same hours again on an SM Timesheet or project time.
