Contact & Account management
Contacts are people; Accounts are the companies they belong to. Both support custom fields (defined once in Settings), tags, and owner assignment, so you can capture exactly the information your business needs without waiting on a developer. XBuddy actively watches for duplicates so your database stays clean as data comes in from imports, web forms, and manual entry.
Open Contacts
Go to CRM → Contacts and click New Contact. Fill in name, email, phone, and link the contact to an Account so their activity rolls up correctly at the company level.
Add custom fields
Any field your business needs (industry, budget, region, contract renewal date) is defined once under CRM → Settings → Custom Fields and appears automatically on the contact form for every user — no per-record setup required.
Resolve duplicates
Open CRM → Contact Duplicates. XBuddy compares contacts on key fields and lists suspected duplicate pairs side by side; review each and click Merge to combine them into one record, preserving all activity history, deals, and notes from both.
Roll up at the Account level
Open CRM → Accounts to see a company profile that aggregates every linked contact, deal, and contract in one view — useful when several people at the same customer are involved in a deal.

The 12 tabs on a contact
The tab lives in the URL, so any tab can be bookmarked or shared: /crm/contacts/:id?tab=financials.
| Tab | URL | Shows | Needs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overview | ?tab=overview | Summary cards, scores, next follow-up | — (default) |
| Profile | ?tab=profile | Person fields, bio, persona | — |
| Company | ?tab=company | The employer account link | — |
| Deals | ?tab=deals | Deals on this contact | — |
| Activity | ?tab=activity | Full timeline | — |
| Calls | ?tab=calls | Call log and the Log Call action | — |
| Support | ?tab=support | Helpdesk tickets and service tickets | tickets:read for helpdesk; service_management:read for service tickets |
| Financials | ?tab=financials | Invoices, quotations, POS transactions, purchase history | invoices:read (Finance module); quotations:read (Sales module); pos:use for POS rows |
| Marketing | ?tab=marketing | Campaign memberships | campaigns:read |
| Health | ?tab=health | Customer health score and renewals | customer-health:read; renewals:read for the renewal block |
| Contracts | ?tab=contracts | CRM contracts and service contracts | — |
| Playbooks | ?tab=playbooks | Customer Success playbook runs | playbooks:complete_task to tick a task off |
Tabs are not hidden when you lack the permission — the tab opens and the gated block inside is simply absent. If Financials looks empty for one user and full for another, compare their invoices:read and the Finance module, not the contact record.
The 12 tabs on an account

| Scoring | Account scores and recompute | account-health:write to recompute |

Unlike contacts and deals, account tabs are not in the URL. /crm/accounts/:id always opens on Overview, and you cannot deep-link someone to the Financials tab of an account. Send them the account link and say which tab to click.
