Material shortages
When a work order is created, XBuddy can check material availability for that order: the BOM quantity times the planned quantity against stock.
When to use
Run it before releasing or starting an order, to avoid stopping mid-production.
Before you start
- Permission:
manufacturing:readto run the check. - Toggles: none.
Steps
Open the work order
Go to the order page (/manufacturing/work-orders/[id]).
Run the material check
Run the check and review which components are short and by how much.
Resolve the gap
Create purchase requests manually in Procurement, or adjust the quantity, then re-check.
In development: MRP and automatic purchase requests on shortages are not available yet. Create purchase requests manually in Procurement.
Tips & common mistakes
- The check is per order; there is no cross-order planning.
- Re-run the check after stock changes.
- Shortages are not turned into purchase requests automatically.
