Daily log & Notes
Daily log (/tasks/daily-log)
The daily log is where, at the end of each day, you update everything you worked on in one screen instead of opening tasks one by one.
Pick the date
Today by default. You can go back to earlier dates within the back-date window your organization configures.
Update each row
Each row is one of your open tasks. For each, enter:
- Hours worked that day, and the overtime part (if any)
- Progress %
- New status (e.g. In Progress, Done)
- A short note about what you did
Subtasks are listed right under their parent; if the parent is not in the list, the row says “Subtask of …”.
Save the whole day
Click Save. The system writes one hour entry per task for that day, then updates progress and status.
A few automatic rules:
- Entering progress > 0 on a Backlog / To Do task moves it to In Progress.
- The Done option is disabled, with the reason, if the task still has open subtasks or an unfinished predecessor (depending on settings).
- With advanced task management on, you can submit for review straight from the log for tasks you own.
- The labor limits strip at the top warns when daily hours or overtime exceed the limits.
Weekly / monthly summary
Switch to Summary to see total hours by task and by day for the week or month. The printout includes signature lines for the employee and the manager — use it as a work timesheet or attach it to a payment request.
Hours logged in the daily log are the same data as project labor: whichever project the task belongs to receives the hours, and they flow into cost reports, time approval and customer billing (if applicable).
Notes (/tasks/notes)
A personal notebook for ideas, quick minutes and reminders.
- Strictly private — each note is returned only to its creator; managers and admins cannot read it.
- Pin important notes to the top and reorder pins.
- Tag notes to group and filter them.
- A note can be attached to a record (e.g. a task) so you can reopen it from there.
- Share a
?note=<id>link to open a note directly (only you can open it).
