Do not mark reconciled until it matches; remember Dr on the statement means money out.
Why
Marking reconciled with a difference hides errors. On a bank statement, Dr is money leaving the account — match it to disbursements.
Steps
- Import the statement.
- Match each line: Dr to disbursements, Cr to receipts.
- Investigate remaining differences.
- Mark reconciled only when the report matches.

- Mark reconciled to finish the period.
- Read a statement Dr as money in.
