Ingest incoming email

When off, mailboxes are used for sending only.

How it works

Turns on automatic import of incoming mail from connected mailboxes (IMAP) into conversations in the shared inbox. A background job checks each active mailbox when its next sync is due.

Conditions for it to take effect

A mailbox with incoming (IMAP) settings must be connected in Communications → Email settings.

When ON

Active mailboxes are synced automatically; new messages become inbox conversations.

When OFF

(Default) No mailbox is synced, automatically or with Sync now (refused with Feature disabled); mailboxes are still used to send mail.

Screens, documents and reports affected

Communications → shared inbox, Email settings, mailbox sync.

Caveats

Checked per company. Sync now on a mailbox card is also refused while this is off. Turning it off does not delete conversations already imported. Mailboxes paused after repeated sync failures are only retried with Sync now. Sync runs already queued before switching off also stop when they come up.
