Situation
A long job needs materials in batches, with a planned bill of materials.
Recommendation
Create material requisitions per batch, optionally from the job’s planned materials.
Why
Each batch is a separate issue through inventory so stock and cost stay right; issue, use and source status are written atomically so a retry never issues twice.
Steps
- Open the job and review planned materials.
- Create the first batch requisition (from plan or by hand).
- Inventory issues the parts.
- Repeat for later batches.
- Return the surplus at the end.
Avoid
- Take the entire plan at once and leave it on the van.
