Catalogs, Product Library & stock items
The Product Library merges non-stock products and stock items into one filterable list, and Catalogs are the curated product lists you share with customers or export. Stock items are mastered in Inventory; here you only add marketing content to them.
When to use
Use this when a sales rep needs a ready-made product list to send a customer, or when marketing wants to enrich product descriptions, media, and attributes in bulk without touching the Inventory master data.
Before you start
- Permissions:
products:readto view the Product Library, stock items, and catalogs;products:writeto edit content and to create or publish a catalog. - Prices are read-only on every screen here. They come from Sales -> Selling Prices.
- Toggle:
business.catalog_public_images(default On) stores uploaded images publicly so the URL can be reused;business.catalog_video_max_mb(default 50) limits video size in MB.
Step by step
Browse the Product Library
Open Product & Marketing -> All Product Listing (/prod-mkt/library). Filter the combined list of services and stock items, open a row to see its drawer, and edit marketing content in bulk when needed.
Enrich a stock item
Open Stock Item Detail (/prod-mkt/stock-items) and pick an item. Add content, marketing fields, attributes, media, and documents. The master record stays in Inventory, so you never enter the same product twice.
Create a catalog
Go to Catalogs (/prod-mkt/catalogs) and click New (/prod-mkt/catalogs/new). A catalog is built from rules plus pinned items, minus excluded items, so you can describe “all items in this group” and still pin or exclude individual products.
Review the items
Open the catalog (/prod-mkt/catalogs/[id]) and check the resulting list, the pins, and the excludes.
Publish and share
Publish the catalog when it is ready, then export it as CSV to share. Archive it when it is outdated; you can unarchive it later.
Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Published | Available to use and export. |
| Archived | Retired from use; can be restored with unarchive. |
Tips & common mistakes
- Edit master data such as units and stock settings in Inventory, not here.
- Prefer rules over pinning every item by hand, so new matching products are included automatically.
- Check prices in Sales before publishing; the catalog only displays them.
- Use a different catalog for each audience or season instead of editing one catalog back and forth.
