Tool requisitions

Tool requisitions hand out tools and equipment to technicians for the duration of work and record who holds them until they come back.

When to use

Use it when a job needs a tool (meter, ladder, machine) that belongs to the company and must be tracked.

Open /field-service/tool-requisitions. Permission: field_service:execute to raise and run requisitions; field_service:read to view.
Custody is recorded against the asset, so the tool must exist in Asset Management.

Raise a tool requisition for the job.

After approval the tool is issued and assigned to the technician.

When the work is done the tool is returned and the requisition is closed.

A tool not returned stays assigned to the technician — follow up before closing the job.
Equipment that is booked on the schedule is not available to another job at the same time.
