Multi-Currency
XBuddy is VND-first — built for Vietnamese SMEs whose books run in đồng — but any document can be issued in a foreign currency when you trade internationally.
How it works
- Currency catalog — a standard ISO-4217 list is available everywhere a currency is picked: VND, USD, EUR, GBP, SGD, JPY, CNY, THB, MYR, KRW, AUD, HKD. Currencies are platform-standard, not tenant-managed master data.
- Documents carry currency + rate — invoices, bills, journal entries, and bank transactions store the transaction currency and its exchange rate, so amounts convert consistently into your books.
- Accounting handles FX — journal posting and bank accounts work with exchange rates; a multi-currency feature toggle in Finance controls whether documents can be issued in foreign currencies.
- Group consolidation translates FX — when consolidating a subsidiary that reports in another currency, the Accounting consolidation engine translates its figures into the group currency. See Multi-Company.
Enable the multi_currency toggle under Finance in Feature Toggles before issuing foreign-currency documents.
When to use it
- You invoice overseas customers in USD/EUR but keep your books in VND.
- A subsidiary in the group operates in a different currency and needs consolidating.
- You hold foreign-currency bank accounts and want them reflected correctly.
If all your trade is domestic, leave everything in VND — nothing extra to configure.
